SEELE explores the complexities of the human psyche through an abstract presentation of the id, ego, and superego – performed as a trio. This contemporary dance work was created using new means of creative practice for the choreographer, with emphasis on exploring movement through momentum, inertia, physical limitation, honesty, and dynamic experimentation. Set between the id and the superego, the ego acts as a bridge between the unlikely duo whose energetic partnering draw distinct attention. In this choreographic endeavour the id is portrayed as instinct-driven and child-like, while the superego is more thoughtful and methodical – their movements follow suit.
