Russ Davis is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He has a B.A. from Western Maryland College, an M.A. from the University of Virginia (in English Literature), and a J.D. from the University of Maryland Law School. For 29 years, Russ was a writer and editor of law books at Thomson Reuters in Rochester, New York, and its corporate predecessors. He retired from the company in 2004 and since that time has been writing for the company on a contract basis. Russ has been a fan and supporter of dance since the early 1980s, when all the great dance companies performed in Rochester, including the Paul Taylor Dance Company, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre (with Baryshnikov), and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. He lives in Salisbury, Maryland.
