Dani Cole

Dani Cole is currently an undergraduate student at Marymount Manhattan College, studying dance and human rights, and actively collaborates with SHIFT, an improvisation ensemble with dancers and musicians. Dani has completed a fellowship with Gibney, a vital proponent of movement activism and accessibility, and was selected to be a participant in the inaugural Body Politic Program run by Jill Sigman. She has also studied with Parsons Dance and at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. Interested in moving-thinking-speaking bodies and the interdisciplinary, Dani trusts that the intersections of movement frameworks and socio-political structures evoke potentiality- her work has been shared at the 92nd St. Y, Actor’s Fund Arts Center, Access Theatre, and Marymount Manhattan College. When not dancing, Dani has traveled to South Africa to engage with fellow student activists in advocacy for the decolonization of education and is an ambassador for the Foundation for Holocaust Education Projects. In addition, Dani is a certified yoga instructor and conducts self-created movement+connection workshops throughout NYC, encouraging all bodies to unlock innovation through improvisation and move consciously with others. Dani is thrilled to be working with Alison Cook Beatty Dance and continue her passion for supporting artists reaching out to communities through performance and beyond.
