Class begins with a center warm-up focusing on the use of the back and torso with use of spiral and contractions. Strong classical technique, grounded in American Modern Dance, is emphasized, as well as a strong sense of musicality. Passes across the floor develop throughout class, working into combinations and phrase work with sweeping spatial patterns and jumps that incorporate the repertoire of Alison Cook Beatty Dance. Performance technique, joy, and the passion of dance are emphasized.
